What is Inlays and when will Inlays be needed?
Inlay is made of a solid piece, wich is custom-formed material to fill the cavity. Inlays form depends on the cavity size and the depth. Usually milled into shape with porcelain and cemented into tooth.
When cavity is too large for simple fillings. Inlay will be a better choice.
What is Onlays and when will Onlays be needed?
Onlays also made of a solid, custom-made material. It covers the cusp of the tooth, but it is smaller than a dental crown. It will be used to fill a large cavity that extend over the cusps of a tooth. We usually use cermic as material to make these.
We make Inlays and Onlays in our clinic with CAD/CAM technology and milling machines. All within the same visit.
